The shooter seems to say that he was assaulted as he was getting into his vehicle, and that is the "eyewitness" story too--that he was decked by a punch at his car and then beaten on the sidewalk or street next to his car. His head was supposedly banged on the pavement. Is there a record of him going to the hospital for treatment of his broken nose? How did he get grass stains on his back? From the sidewalk in this reportedly well-kept neighborhood? Did the fight take place on grass or on pavement? Something happened that Zimmerman isn't copping to. Maybe he jumped the kid on the grass, and tried to flee when the kid proved to be too much for him to handle? Oh, but that would contradict the "eyewitness."

Hey FF, here is the answer to one of your many questions regarding Zimmerman. It's hard to believe it, but it looks like your rabid denial of Zimmerman's injuries may have been unfounded.

It's pretty hard to square this report with the video of him in the police station shortly after supposedly being assaulted. Be that as it may, it's a serious problem for the prosecution and might sink the case. The only person living who really knows what happened is Zimmerman, and one way or another he's going to have to live with that knowledge.

It doesn't change the fact that SYG is a bad law, or that none of this would have happened in the first place if Zimmerman had stayed in his car.

If you would have just made this statement at the beginning instead of your armchair investigating, you might be considered relevant on this board. But you really seem to jump to outlandish conclusions... I wouldn't be surprised if Self Defense was used and not Castle Doctrine/Stand Your Ground.


Moments after the shooting Zimmerman told eyewitnesses he shot Martin in self defense. He later told officers his head was being pounded into the pavement and that he feared for his life, but that it was only when Martin seemed to reach for the gun wedges in his waistband that Zimmerman drew his weapon and fired directly into Martin's chest -- killing him.


If it can be corroborated and proved that Martin was on top of Zimmerman pinning him down - it's good old self defense. Stand Your Ground did not come into play - Zimmerman was defending himself from imminent deadly force or great bodily harm.

Zimmerman was not able to retreat w/ Martin on top of him. The inability of "duty to retreat" prior to using deadly force is what had to be proved (not being able to retreat) before Castle Doctrine/Stand Your Ground was passed in FL.

Zimmerman was unable to retreat because Martin was on top of him.

Now if the two were standing face to face - SYG law reads that Zimmerman has no duty to retreat prior to using deadly force against Martin.

Excuse me for trying to inject some sanity and common sense into this discussion but isn't the seminal point of all these posts as it now stands is that .........REASONABLE DOUBT as to what actually occurred that night exists?
