    Wisconsin drumming survey: Up 17%

"Statewide ruffed grouse drumming activity increased 17% between 2016 and 2017, based onthe roadside survey to monitor breeding grouse activity."

Has anyone seen news that this may be a trend across the upper Midwest?

no no no.....you got that wrong.....maybe down 17%...no need for those flatlanders to bother with the loooong drive to central/northern Wisconsin......I would HATE to see you waste your time and gas.....in a fruitless pursuit....

and would like to find out who puts out these misleading reports......... I really would!!....

That would appear on track and holds well for the Yoop in 2018.

    Gentlemen,
Now if the Pa Grouse numbers would also be up 17% that would be just fantastic for this next years Grouse hunting.

    gunut,

I have to admit here in the eastern part of the USA we kept the reports on the NH, PA, VT and NY Grouse numbers pretty much under raps when our Grouse number were way up, I guess you guys out west now should act in the same manner.

Unfortunately for you guys out west we now have the internet and instant communications.

The Grouse hunters are already booking their places to stay in WI, and Montana for this coming season. Maybe if the Ohio and NJ Grouse hunters take their Grouse hunting vacations out west this season, it will take some pressure of our NY, PA and NH Grouse populations this next year.
