Camille Paglia sits on the opposite side of the political fence from conservatives, however there's no denying her ability to clearly reason and write with a high level of skill. In this Jonathan Last interview Camille talks about the 2016 election, Trump's first six months and how far removed liberals are from reality and sanity. She hits Trump hard, but also puts the man into proper perspective and outlines the real reasons why he got elected. She also shares with the reader an incredible speech (I urge you to read it) Trump recently gave on the state of US building regulations and our nations infrastructure. It was a brilliant speech the media ignored due to their myopic obsession with Russia, which Paglia thinks is fantasy.

IMO Paglia misses the mark in placing too much blame on this current liberal hysteria on Chuck Schumer. She feels Schumer should have asserted more moral authority as the "party spun out of control in a nationwide orgy of rage and spite." I think that blame net needs to be cast much wider. Our former president, one Barack Obama, shares a great deal of blame for the snowflake meltdown. After all it was Obama who traveled around the country during his days in the WH exhorting our youth to shed the shackles of capitalism and instead consider working for non-profits and activist organizations. This IMO sowed the seeds for the meltdown as the people who followed his lead have been brainwashed with divisive messaging and a steady stream of misinformation. Hillary Clinton also deserves a crap load of blame for the left wing rage. Instead of going quietly into the sunset she's gone on a nationwide blame tour, which is absolutely pathetic and demonstrates why should would have been a disastrous president.

Lastly, Paglia shines a light in two very important areas. One, she explains in very clear terms the disconnect between modern liberalism and the concerns of the average American. Secondly, Camille outlines the twisted logic behind how liberals are reacting to and addressing global terrorism. Great messaging in here for Larry Brown. To Paglia, Larry doesn't get it because of his obsessive adherence to Politically Correct language. To Paglia, Political Correctness "represents the fossilized institutionalization of once-vital revolutionary ideas, which have become mere rote formulas. It is repressively Stalinist (something I've been saying for years), dependent on a labyrinthine, parasitic bureaucracy to enforce its empty dictates."To Paglia, Americans have right to ask their government to protect them from terrorism. This passage is particularly accurate... "The contortions to which so many liberals resort to avoid connecting bombings, massacres, persecutions, and cultural vandalism to Islamic jihadism is remarkable, given their usual animosity to religion, above all Christianity. Some commentators have suggested a link to racial preconceptions: that is, Islam remains beyond criticism because it is largely a religion of non-whites whose two holy cities occupy territory once oppressed by Western imperialism." Talk about tortured logic and absolute bigotry!
