I'm about 12 miles north of the Bonsall/Fallbrook fire and about 12 miles south of the Murrieta fire that also started yesterday. I can see the smoke and smell the fires, but we are OK. Local high school is an evacuation center, so CalFire must think this location is safe. Coming in from Yuma last night, we could see the flames ahead of us. That was an "Oh ****" moment. Thanks for asking.

Just heard from a buddy that another hunting friend's family farm near Santa Barbara got mostly torched, 10,000 acres as I understand it. Not all farmland, some is oil production. Waiting for a report.

Could you tell us what areas in the south were destroyed and what is the status of the fire now. I lived in Orange county in the 60's and made many trips to San Diego. I realize much has changed since then.
I've done few of the things I said I'd do and about all of the things I said I wouldn't
